Get Involved! Volunteers make Taste the successful fundraising event it is!

We could not do it without you! Volunteering for Taste is a fun, exciting and never dull!

Three volunteer training sessions will be offered this year.

  • Thursday, September 4 at 5:30PM
  • Friday, September 5 at 1:30PM
  • Thursday, September 11 at 10:00AM

To volunteer, fill out the volunteer form.

It is mandatory to attend ONE training session in order to volunteer for the event. If you cannot attend a listed training session please contact Elissa (eschneid@cscc.edu) to make other arrangements. You must be 21 years of age to volunteer for Taste. Job descriptions and assignments will be distributed at the training session.

Volunteer Opportunities

Pre-Prep: 9-15-2008 1:00-3:00PM
Assists in set up and chef supply counts and cart set up and bar cart set up.

Barback: 9-16-2008 5:00-9:30PM
Assists in setting up and tearing down bar stations. Assist bartenders in acquiring additional supplies when needed from Eibling 08. Help keep area clean and answer guest questions. Will assist in the event end clean up.

Bartender: 9-16-2008 5:00-9:30PM
Sets up bar station. Pours wine, beer and soft drinks for guests. Tear down bar area at end of night and return supplies to Eibling. Will assist in the event end clean up.

Champagne/ Beverage Coordination: 9-16-2008 4:35-8:00PM
Assists in setting up and tearing down the server station. Assist in setting up and tearing down of serving area. Opens and pours champagne for servers to present. Picks up empty champagne glasses and returns them to the bins. Serves a glass of champagne to the guest after the guest has passed though registration. At 6:30pm duties will be to distribute any leftover champagne to the 7 bars then to assist area bars in replenishment of beverages and chef replenishment of supplies.

Food & Establishment Assistant: 9-16-2008 5:00-9:00PM
Assists Chefs in whatever they need (replenishing plates, napkins, forks, water etc..) Clears tables and throws used plates away. Answers questions for guests.

Registration: 9-16-2008 4:30-8:30PM
Welcomes guests to campus and answers questions. Greets people, take tickets, assist with will call and direction of event staff, guests and participants. Will also assist with guest services.

Post Prep: 9-17-2008 1:00-3:00PM
Assists in tear down and chef supply counts and cart tear down. Will help box, count and put away supplies.

Coordination/ Operations Assistant: 9-16-2008 2:00-6:30PM
Will assist chefs in arrival, unloading and direction to stations. Will help chefs and make sure they have all necessary supplies and direct them to the SYSCO relief station. Will also assist zone coordinators with last minute adjustments and needs such as distributing napkins, plates, forks.
